Dr Sew Ying Cheong

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Cheong is a vocationally qualified and experienced lady General Practitioner from Malaysia with a special interests in women & Child’s health in general practice. She has graduated from Mangalore University with a MBBS and after internship, has continued another 4 years in the hospital rotation in various disciplines to gain wider experience including family medicine as her special interest, prior to practising as the principal general practitioner for about 20 years. With broad experience in rural and tropical medicine, she has continued to pursue further postgraduate vocational studies under the conjoint Malaysian-Australian RACGP examination, leading to the vocational FRACGP qualification.

She is also able to speak in various languages to facilitate communication with patients and carers from various ethnic backgrounds and nationalities, leading to better understanding of the patients’ concerns, demands or requirements.

Dr Cheong speaks Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien), Malaysian and Indonesian.
